Gwastad Hall

An independent nursing home near Wrexham, North Wales

Gwastad Hall is a 19th century former country home offering 24-hour nursing care by trained staff. Relax in the sunshine or rest in the conservatory and overlook the manicured Victorian rock garden, ornamental pond and terraced rockeries.

The beautiful gardens provide a tranquil, peaceful haven for our residents. Gwastad Hall provides the highest standard of individualised care in a friendly ‘home from home’ atmosphere. We pride ourselves on the standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the hall.

Being one of the Wrexham nursing homes, we ensure that all residents get a quality of life while living with us and understand the importance of dignity, independence, health, and self-determination. And Activities and play help us fulfilling these goals.

The privacy of our residents is important and we also have a permanent recreational officer when it’s time for fun.

Here at Gwastad Hall we firmly believe that leisure activities are not just about playing games of bingo or singalongs. Our goal is to enable residents to live a full and worthwhile life maintaining as far as possible health, independence, dignity and self-determination and activities play an important role in helping them achieve this goal.

We have a weekly activities program, which you can find on a noticeboard and as well as informing everyone of the daily events during the week, it also keeps you up-to-date with any changes that might occur including the dates of our monthly communion services and all forthcoming entertainments.

Our residents may not be well enough to get out and about, so we encourage and welcome our local community to visit us e.g. church, library, nursery school, pets as therapy and newsagents. This all aids our residents to keep in touch with what is going on and to continue to feel part of the community. As part of new activity development, we have recently purchased a projector and a large screen for use in afternoon cinema screenings. A broad selection of films are available and specific films can be downloaded on request. Families are welcome to visit and watch the films with relatives or friends.
