A vacancy has arisen for a Social Activities Co-ordinator at our Care Home in Greenfield.
This position is for 35 hours per week. The hours of work are 9.00am till 4.30pm (Monday to Friday) with half an hour deducted for lunch. You will be expected to work occasional weekends or evenings to support with fetes or other relevant activities.
We offer 5.6 weeks annual leave and a rate of pay above the national average.
The Activities Co-ordinator is an essential role to support the well being of our residents by providing a home from home environment where activities both social and therapeutic are sensitive to the needs and preferences of the individual.
You will be required to organise and participate in a wide range of stimulating activities and entertainment to suit every taste and ability. To ensure each resident has personalised activities which suit their needs, this will be done by getting to know our resident and their families.
You will tailor an ongoing programme of activities and events for each resident aimed at promoting their independence and social engagement. You will need to be creative, inspiring and organised.
You will need to be a people person with a warm and empathetic personality. You will be committed to ensuring the Home, its residents and staff are involved in the local community, so a genuine enthusiasm for our residents is essential.
In Order to be considered for this post you will need the following:
- Ideally three years of experience in a similar role and environment.
- QCF Level 2/3.
- Full clean driving licence is essential
- Respect for clients and colleagues
- Empathetic and warm personality
- Good organisational skills
- Professional image at all times
- Patience and understanding at all times
- Trust and confidentiality
